This is the first actual demo of Battle Squadron ONE for the iPhone/iPod/iPad – ready for release winter 2010/11.
Most of the game and device specific features have been implemented on iPhone, including for example the controls.
After finishing the iPhone version we will convert the game to Android and Symbian and extend the game to 2-player mode… just like the original.
So watch out for the great action and gameplay of Battle Squadron ONE… soon in an online store near you… 🙂

Awesome! I’m a huge fan of Battle Squadron. But, is there any chance of having Cave-style drag control? That worked out really well, and would be a much more precise method than tilting. Check out DoDonPachi Rebirth…
Hi Kamelito
thanks.. 🙂
A smartphone would never be a joystick that is for sure. Although the question is… could it be possible to make a similar control on a smartphone? 🙂
In answer to your question on beta testers. That is a bit unsurtain at the moment and we will have to get back to you.
Congrats, but we can see in this demo that its not very easy to move, fire and get bonus at the same time. it sounds by watching that the controls are not as precise as the Amiga with a joystick. Its just an impression by looking at the demo Do you plan to have a virtual joystick too?
Are you looking for beta testers?
Regards
Kamel
Hi Alexander,
We have considered taking advantage of the full width of the screen and at the moment it is a bit unclear. The original BS is however 288 pixels wide and 256 high. To avoid changing the gameplay (incl. horizontal scroll) we did not want to increase the width in pixels… we have however “stretched” the width a bit 😉 In the next and final version the current black bars left and right will be filled with fire, smartbomb, and options icons 🙂
Nice. Is it me or is the aspect ratio still 4:3? Not practical to take full advantage of screen?
